Tuning energy levels with light
In a comprehensive study, the effect of substitution on tuning the energy levels of diarylethenes has been investigated to guide the design of improved photoswitches with maximum variation in oxidation/reduction potentials for their use in optoelectronic devices, as detailed in a forthcoming full article in Chemistry - A European Journal.
