Taking azobenzenes to the next level

By proper substitution David could significantly improve several key features of azobenzenes at once, namely efficient forward and backward switching, both in the visible range, and thermal stability of the Z- isomer. The work that has been carried out together with Prof. Albert M. (Fred) Brouwer (University of Amsterdam) will be communicated in J. Am. Chem. Soc.
