Rendering TTF donor moieties photoswitchable
By separating tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) units from the diarylethene (DAE) using an ethynylene linkage, Sonia was able to restore photochromic behavior of the DAE unit and hence modulation of the TTF donor. Such photoswitchable TTF donors are being described in an upcoming paper in the Journal of Physical Chemistry C and they can be coupled to C60 acceptor to achieve photomodulation of charge separation and recombination (see upcoming communication in Angewandte Chemie).
