Polymerization directly on semiconductor
In collaboration with the group of Marek Szymonski (Jagiellonian University of Krakow) we could show the on-surface polymerization to work also when carried out directly on TiO2 surfaces. Surprisingly, the presence of hydroxyl groups is essential for the polymerization to occur, pointing to an alternative operating mechanism.
