New devices by Janus 2D materials
In a long-standing effort with the Samorì group (ISIS-ULP Strasbourg) we have been able to create multi-functional transistor/memory devices that respond independently to optical stimuli and electric fields and thus are promising candidates in "More than Moore Technologies". Key has been the face-selective functionalization of two-dimensional materials, such as tungsten diselenide, with photochromic as well as ferroelectric components to provide Janus-like hybrid materials that give rise to unprecedented device performance. The work will forthcoming as full article in Advanced Functional Materials.
