Light-switchable container materials

Incorporating our ortho-fluoroazobenzenes into the shell of metal organic frameworks allowed us to control the uptake and release of guest molecules by visible light. Our approach outlines a general strategy to remote-control the accessibility of these highly porous materials as described in a paper that just got accepted in Angewandte Chemie. The work has primarily been carried out by Dragos, who will present it at next week's GRC - hope it still counts as "unpublished work"... Congratulations and happy pentecost!
