Highlighting a key discovery

Together with our long-term collaborator and close friend Leonhard Grill (Grill group at the University of Graz) we have been reviewing the genesis and development of on-surface polymerization from the serendipitous discovery in our labs to becoming a powerful method to prepare otherwise inaccessible polymeric nanostructures with unprecedented precision. Our review has just appeared in Nature Chemistry.
